Man wanted on parole violation arrested after police find meth, syringes

MITCHELL – A Heltonville man was arrested on drug charges on Monday, January 15, after he was stopped by Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Shaun Cabral at Main and 1st Streets in Mitchell.

According to Deputy Cabral, he was patrolling on Main Street when he spotted a 2006 maroon Ford Focus, and the registered owner was wanted on a warrant for a patrol violation. The owner, Randall Jamison, of Heltonville, was in the vehicle’s passenger seat.

Deputy Cabral stopped the vehicle and detained Jamison on the outstanding warrant. Jamison replied he had “some dirty needles in his front jean pocket” when asked if he had anything illegal.

Officers found an eyeglass case in Jamison’s pocket that contained syringes and a container of crystal meth.

Jamison was detained on the outstanding warrant and new charges of possession of meth and illegal possession of a syringe.
