Ellis Edward Brooking, 75, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born September 10, 1948, in Bedford, he was the son of Lora Ellis and Josephine Elmira (Wray) Brooking. He married Linda Darlene Baldwin on September 6, 1968, and she preceded him in death on January 3, 2018. He retired from W.F. Myers after 44 years and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, Michael Edward Brooking, and wife, Christie, of Martinsville; a daughter, Lisa Parsley; and husband, Jason, of Kalispell, MT; two grandchildren, Cole Brooking, and Victoria Brooking; a brother, James Brooking of Medora; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, Randy Brooking, and a sister, Patty Terry.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Mundell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
