BLOOMINGTON– The Adopt programs are 2 separate programs – Adopt-a-Stream and Adopt-a-Greenspace – that utilize the power of volunteers to help ensure that our Bloomington environment stays safe, clean, and accessible for all. Volunteers commit to serve a one-year term, from May 2024-April 2025, at their assigned stream or greenspace. Volunteers can be families, individuals, groups, and everything in between! Parks and Recreation staff work with volunteers to help choose an area best fitted to their skills, interests, and abilities. Mandatory virtual orientation takes place on Thursday, March 28 at 5:30 p.m. A Zoom link will be sent out to attendees closer to the meeting date. Following that, volunteers meet with the leaders of their chosen program for an on-site training session before beginning their service term. Read on for more information on each of the Adopt programs.
