COLUMBUS — Three minors were arrested after a vehicle crashed into an apartment building in Columbus on Sunday.
According to the Columbus Police Department, officers responded to the Steinhurst Manor Apartments around 3:10 a.m. on Sunday. Officials said a dark-colored Kia Soul reportedly crashed into an apartment building in the complex and caused minor damage.
Officers arrived in the area moments later and detained three 16-year-old juveniles who had fled from the vehicle on foot.
A short time later, the officers determined that Kia’s license plate had been stolen. Upon closer inspection, they noted that the ignition on the Kia was altered and damaged, and the vehicle was also likely stolen.
The three juveniles were transported to the Bartholomew County Juvenile Youth Services Center, where they were remanded on charges of possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, and a curfew violation.
Additional charges are possible in this ongoing investigation.
Officials with the department said that additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
