BLOOMINGTON – On Saturday, Brianne Gregory was named Monroe County’s new auditor during an uncontested Monroe County Democratic Party Central Committee caucus.
Gregory plans to run as an incumbent auditor in the May primary.
Gregory, the county’s former financial director, will assume the title previously held by Catherine Smith, now the county treasurer.
The auditor’s seat became vacant when Smith was selected as county treasurer in January after Jessica McClellan resigned to service as the city’s controller.
