Phyllis Ann Anderson, 92, of Evansville, formerly of Bedford, passed away on February 12, 2024, at Bethel Manor in Evansville.
Born on March 14, 1931, she was the daughter of William Mason and Ida Schaustal (White) Jackson. She married Teddy “Gene” Anderson on April 15, 1950, and he preceded her in death on January 19, 2022.
Phyllis worked for Jackie’s Beauty Shop and owned and operated Phyllis’s Beauty Shop. She was a graduate of Bedford High School with the class of 1949 and attended Bedford First Baptist. She was a member of Eastern Star.
Surviving Phyllis is one daughter, Rita Mullen; four grandchildren, Shawn Whalin, Dustin (Trina) Whalin, Andrea Mullen, and Michael Mullen; three great-grandchildren, Ian, Blaine, and Mae; along with several nieces and nephews.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Julia Whalin; grandson, Jacob Whalin; and eight siblings.
A funeral service for Phyllis will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes with Philip Thorne officiating. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visiting hours are from 11:00 a.m. to the service time, also at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel.
