PAOLI – On the morning of Thursday, February 15, a Paoli Police Department officer stopped the driver of a black Kia Sedan for having an expired license plate.
The traffic stop was conducted at 10:46 a.m. at Willow Creek Road and Willow Creek Drive.
The driver, Mark Singleton Jr, admitted he was unaware of the vehicle’s expired registration and confessed to not having a valid driver’s license. During the interaction, officers detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Singleton handed an officer a half-smoked joint.
Upon running Singleton’s information through dispatch, police learned he was wanted on an outstanding warrant in Lawrence County.
During a search of the vehicle and Singleton’s belongings, police found methamphetamine, marijuana, and suboxone, along with drug paraphernalia. Singleton claimed ownership of all the illegal substances found.
Singleton was transported to the Orange County Jail without incident and booked on multiple charges, including possession of controlled substances.
