BEDFORD – A Bedford woman was arrested after Bedford Police St. Faheem Bade stopped her vehicle on Saturday, March 2 for having no headlights or tail lights.
Sgt. Bade spotted the Buick SUV at 11:52 p.m. at the intersection of 7th and M Streets while on patrol. He initiated a traffic stop and the driver pulled into the parking lot at Bandana’s at 5th and M Streets.
When the driver pulled into the parking lot she turned on her headlights.
Sgt. Bade spoke to the driver 32-year-old Kendra Martin, who smelled of alcohol.
Martin failed several field sobriety tests and was detained.
She submitted to a preliminary breath test and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.220 percent. She was transported to IU Health for medical clearance due to her high blood-alcohol content. She was medically cleared and transported to the Lawrence County Jail on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction, OWI endangerment, and operating a vehicle with a blood-alcohol level of 0.15 percent or higher.
