INDIANA TOLL ROAD— Troopers from several districts came together last week to conduct a saturation patrol on the Indiana Toll Road.
Troopers from the Toll Road, Bremen, Peru, Lowell, and Ft. Wayne Districts worked across the Toll Road, focusing on aggressive driving and criminal interdiction.
These patrols took place from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday, April 15th, and Tuesday, April 16th.
These patrols resulted in:
- 36 criminal arrests
- Four felony arrests
- 28 drug arrests
- Three OWI arrests
- 24 inspections of commercial motor vehicles
- 37 moving citations
- 40 non-moving citations
- 148 warnings
- During this period, only two minor crashes were reported at toll plazas.
The Indiana State Police is committed to keeping our roadways and communities as safe as possible, and this collaborative effort between troopers across northern Indiana exemplifies that dedication to prioritizing safety.
Major Tony Casto, Indiana State Police North Zone Major, said, “With the construction and vacation season upon us, the goal of the ISP is to reduce the number of serious bodily injury and fatal crashes. Focused patrols will continue to be utilized throughout the state to reduce aggressive and impaired driving. The troopers assigned to the Toll Road Post have been laser-focused on this goal. I appreciate the assistance of troopers from neighboring districts and divisions supporting the Toll Road troops in their effort.”
