INDIANAPOLIS– One week from today, the 48th OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and 25th Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024. More than 20,000 participants from 5 continents, 12 countries, and all 50 states will take over the streets of downtown Indianapolis for The Greatest Spectacle in Running®. Participants will conquer 13.1 or 3.1 miles and earn a finisher medal, participant shirt, and post-race refreshments and entertainment.
Recently honored as the #1 Best Half Marathon and #1 Best 5K in USA TODAY’S 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards and recognized as one of “America’s Most Iconic Races” by Runner’s World, this annual event continues to captivate participants nationwide.

- 7:30 a.m. – Athletes with Disabilities Start
- 7:33 a.m. – Mini-Marathon Wave 1 Start
- 7:40 a.m. – Mini-Marathon Wave 2 Start
- 7:50 a.m. – Mini-Marathon Wave 3 Start
- 8:00 a.m. – Mini-Marathon Wave 4 Start
- 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Post Race Party in Military Park. This portion of the event is free and open to the public.
WHERE: Downtown Indianapolis, start line on Washington Street – north side of the JW Marriot, near the intersection of West Street and Washington Street.
WHO: 20,000+ OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K participants and spectators, 500 Festival staff, thousands of volunteers, 45+ course entertainment groups, 15 pit stations, and even more festivities in the Post Race Party.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Pre-Race: Members of the Circle City Sound barbershop chorus: Jeff Broadfoot, Kurt Bailer, Kevin Bailer, and David Pygman, who call themselves Brothers of a Chord, will perform “Back Home Again in Indiana” before the start of the Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K. Staff Sergeant Jenna Burke, vocalist with the Indiana National Guard will perform the national anthem before the start of the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon.
- Pace Team: The Dick’s Sporting Goods 500 Festival Pace Team, powered by Elevated Pacing, will be the official Pace Team for the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. Elevated Running and Pacing provides highly qualified, experienced, and fun pacers who will lead participants to successful finishes.
- Gold Mile: This motivational, mile-long segment of the Mini-Marathon course, in partnership with Survivor Outreach Services, features patriotic décor and hundreds of volunteers who line Mile 6 at the backstretch of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Volunteers encourage participants at the toughest peak of the course.
