Jack Everly to conduct renowned Broadway stars and the ISO in South Pacific: In Concert

INDIANAPOLIS— Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra proudly present South Pacific: In Concert, a captivating presentation of highlights from the beloved ten-time Tony Award-winning musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein. “This is a great score performed by our incredible Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra with an amazing cast and a timely and important story,” says Maestro Everly. “I can’t wait to present this to our audiences!”

The performance will feature musical highlights from the South Pacific with choreography and costuming. Principal casting for South Pacific: In Concert features Broadway’s leading lady Ginna Claire Mason as Nellie Forbush, international opera star Nathan Gunn as Emile de Becque, Grammy-award winner NaTasha Yvette Williams as Bloody Mary, Melani Carrié as Liat, Broadway favorite Nick Adams as Lt. Joseph Cable, and rising Broadway star Jim Hogan as Luther Billis. Bringing the lush melodies of South Pacific: In Concert to life are the extraordinary musicians of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and an ensemble comprising talented local performers and members of the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus.

Performances begin at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10; 8 p.m. Friday, May 10; and 8 p.m. Saturday, May 11. Please note: the Coffee Pops performance is two hours long with a 20-minute intermission.

About Jack Everly

Jack Everly is the Principal Pops Conductor of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, and the National Arts Centre Orchestra (Ottawa). He has conducted the Baltimore Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, the San Francisco Symphony, the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, and the Seattle Symphony. He serves as music director of the AES Indiana Yuletide Celebration, the largest symphonic holiday production in the country. He led the ISO’s first Pops recording, Yuletide Celebration, Volume One. Some of his other recordings include In The Presence featuring the Czech Philharmonic and Daniel Rodriguez; Sandi Patty’s Broadway Stories; the soundtrack to Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame; and Everything’s Coming Up Roses: The Overtures of Jule Styne.

Everly, a Hoosier native and graduate of the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, is a recipient of the 2015 Indiana Historical Society Living Legends Award and holds an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from Franklin College in his home state of Indiana. In 2023, he received the Sagamore of the Wabash award, the highest honor a Hoosier can receive, presented by Governor Eric Holcomb.
