INDIANA – May is Military Appreciation Month, which includes National Poppy Day.
American Legon Auxiliary members will be out in force on National Poppy Day – May 24, and Memorial Day.
The distribution of red crepe paper poppies not only raises funds to assist disabled and hospitalized veterans directly but poppies also raises public awareness about the sacrifices our servicemembers made for their freedom.
One way the American Legon Auxiliary National Headquarters will bring awareness to the importance of this day is by hosting Virtual National Poppy Day. You can watch this program on Facebook starting May 24 at Noon ET.
Visit the American Legon Auxiliary’s Facebook and Instagram pages and share the “Pass the Poppy!” post.
Let’s see where it lands! Every time you pass the poppy, you increase awareness about its meaning.
