BLOOMINGTON – This Saturday, during Memorial Day Weekend, help the Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market salute a 50-year legacy of providing a means for supporting small farm vendors, food and beverage artisans, and hundreds of thousands of local and visiting customers.
In honor of the 50th Anniversary, vendors will proudly display a commemorative pennant identifying the number of years they have participated at the Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market. Be sure to congratulate new and seasoned vendors as you venture around the Market this Saturday.
This Saturday, at 10:00 a.m., a commemorative proclamation will be delivered accompanied by greetings, and Market reflections will be read by Farmers’ Market Advisory Council members.
Vendors and customers will be invited to preserve their reflections at a 50th Anniversary oral history station and a “reflection banner.” Along with Market merchandise, there will be fun games and giveaways for patrons of all ages.
In honor of the 50th, be sure to pose for a caricature rendering by local artist Dan Alexander or get a face painting by Sarah Sackmann. They will be stationed on the Fernandez Plaza near the City Hall steps.
Stop by the Farmers’ Market Info Table to purchase a commemorative tote bag.
