Bloomington man arrested after police seize two pounds of meth, heroin/fentanyl and marijuana

MORGAN CO. – On Sunday, May 26th, Troopers from the Bloomington District, with assistance from Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section Detectives and the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a controlled-substance investigation that led to the arrest of a Bloomington man.

On Friday, May 24th, DES Detectives and Troopers received information that a male, Corey Cobb, 23, of Bloomington, was traveling from Detroit, Michigan, to the Bloomington area with a suspected large amount of controlled substances.

On Sunday afternoon, Trooper Chance Humphrey of the Indiana State Police Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Section observed a white 2021 Toyota Corolla traveling above the 70 mph posted speed limit and initiated a traffic stop. Trooper Humphrey identified Cobb as the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle.

Deputy David Tolan of the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department and his K-9 partner Bullet assisted with the traffic stop. Troopers Ben Burris and Curtis Wilder also arrived on the scene to assist.  During a search of the Toyota, approximately one ounce of marijuana, two ounces of heroin/fentanyl, and two pounds of methamphetamine were located and seized.

Cobb was arrested and transported to the Morgan County Jail on charges of dealing meth, possession of a narcotic drug with intent to deal, possession of meth, possession of a narcotic drug and possession of marijuana.
