Storm strikes West Boggs Park with hundreds of trees down

LOOGOOTEE—West Boggs Park crews are assessing the damage and clearing debris and hundreds of downed trees after a storm struck Sunday night.

Officials say, thankfully, there were no injuries. All park services, activities, and trails were closed on Monday. Due to the dangerous situation, all cart paths are closed. The boat ramp is open to boat fishermen.

Anyone with plans to visit the park are asked to stay away. All camping reservations for Monday were canceled and refunds were issued.

Those with seasonal passes are asked to check out their campsites before setting up campsites.

Officials appreciate your patience as they figure out the clean-up situation.
