INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana State Fair is gearing up for its annual event, the Great Indiana State Fair, which will take place from August 2 to 18. To make this event a success, the fair is looking to hire seasonal employees who want to be part of this exciting experience.
The 16th annual Indiana State Fair Job Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, June 5th, from 4 to 6 p.m. It will be held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center in the Agriculture/Horticulture Building at 1202 E. 38th Street, Indianapolis, 46205. At the Job Fair, candidates interested in seasonal positions at the 2024 Indiana State Fair can fill out an application and have an on-site interview.
The 168th Indiana State Fair needs hundreds of seasonal employees for various roles, including Parking Attendants, Gate Staff, Security Personnel, Operations Team Members, Tractor Shuttle Operators, Information Booth Assistants, and Education Exhibit Guides. These positions suit college students, retirees, individuals with full-time jobs looking for extra income, and others.
“This Job Fair kickstarts our seasonal hiring efforts for the Great Indiana State Fair, and we couldn’t do it without the approximately 800 employees who come on board,” said Mark Anderson, Director of Human Resources, Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center. “We will continue our referral and attendance incentive programs for our seasonal staff this year. A large majority of our year-round employees began as seasonal workers, and we would love that trend to continue.”
Prospective applicants are encouraged to bring a positive attitude and a resume, if available, to the Job Fair. No prior knowledge of the fair is required, just a willingness to assist guests. Those unable to attend the Job Fair can visit the State Fairgrounds’ Employment Office, located on the northeast corner of the Fairgrounds, starting June 10th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
