MITCHELL— Mitchell First Church of God will host a free movie night at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 23rd.
The church will be showing two movies: The Case for Christ for adults and The Lion of Judah for children.
The Case for Christ is a 2017 American Christian drama film directed by Jon Gunn and written by Brian Bird, based on a true story and inspired by the 1998 book of the same name by Lee Strobel. The film stars Mike Vogel, Erika Christensen, Faye Dunaway and Robert Forster, and follows an atheist journalist who looks to disprove his wife’s Christian faith. The film was released on April 7, 2017.
The Lion of Judah is a 2011 South African-American computer-animated Christian comedy-drama film produced by Animated Family Films, distributed by Rocky Mountain Pictures, and starring Scott Eastwood, Georgina Cordova, Sandi Patty, Anupam Kher, Michael Madsen, Alphonso McAuley, Omar Benson Miller, Vic Mignogna and Ernest Borgnine. It is the sequel to the Christmas short film Once Upon A Stable, taking place 30 years earlier in a Bethlehem stable as The Stable-Mates witness the birth of “The King”. Lion of Judah had a limited release to theaters starting June 3, 2011, and a domestic DVD release Easter 2012.
The movies will be shown in the Family Ministry Center next to the church. The church will provide free drinks and popcorn. Be sure to bring your lawn chair and enjoy the show!
