BEDFORD – A Bedford woman was arrested on a charge of battery after Bedford Police officers responded to an apartment on March 3 at 7:28 a.m. in the 600 block of Riley Boulevard.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of 33-year-old Ashley Glaab on a charge of battery.
According to Officer Steven Hatton Jr., when police arrived, they spoke to a male who reported Glaab had slammed his hand in the screen door.
He said he got home and could hear the neighbor’s children running through the apartment and making loud noises. He told police this was an ongoing issue with his neighbor. He advised both he and Glaab have contacted the landlord and police due to problems between them.
The male told police he had turned on music to drown out the noise. That is when Glaab walked to his front door to tell him to turn down the music. He told police Glaab was angry, and there was an argument. Glaab then kicked the screen door, which caused it to slam on his left hand between the door and the door frame. He refused medical treatment. Police say on the screen door some mud was smeared, which could have been from someone kicking the door after walking through the grass.
Photos were taken of the male’s hand.
Police spoke to Glaab, who admitted she approached her neighbor about the noise, saying her kids were sick and she wanted the music turned down. She also admitted there was an ongoing issue between her and the neighbor. She denied kicking his door or smashing his hand.
The male did sign a battery affidavit, and the information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office, and a warrant was issued for Glaab’s arrest.
