Limestone Heritage Festival celebrates local history with a patriotic parade

BEDFORD – The annual Limestone Heritage Festival parade was held on Saturday, June 29th, for the enjoyment of our community.

Local legend Jay Fiddler served as the Grand Marshal of this year’s festival, leading the parade with a flourish. Mayor Sam Craig declared the day “Jay Fiddler Day” in recognition of his significant contributions to the community.

The festivities started with JoAnna Hackney’s stirring rendition of the national anthem, setting a patriotic tone for the day.

A highlight of the day was undoubtedly the Limestone Heritage Festival Parade, which brought a vibrant spectacle to the streets. The parade featured lively floats, playful go-karts, and antique cars, much to the delight of spectators.

All parade award winners can pick up their awards at the WQRK/WBIW/WPHZ radio stations at 424 Heltonville Road West, Bedford. Office hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please note the office will be closed on Thursday, 7/4, and Friday, 7/5, in observance of the holiday.

The 2024 Limestone Heritage Festival proved once again to be a cherished community tradition, celebrating local history, artistry, and the enduring spirit of Bedford.
