BEDFORD – Lawrence County 4-H members will rise before the sun on Saturday morning to transport their animals to the fairgrounds for the start of the 54th annual Lawrence County Fair.
Animal check-in begins at 5 a.m.
The fair runs from July 6 to July 13.
The Lawrence County Fair is free to attend, and everyone is welcome. There will be no parking fee this year.
There will be plenty to see and do and many good fair foods to enjoy.
Free family events will begin on Saturday, July 6, and throughout the week.
Saturday will feature the Dog Agility contest, Horse and Pony Showmanship, and Pedal Tractor Pull.
Those attending can check out the 4-H projects and view the grand champions at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Tuesday, July 9, will be Kid’s Day, and there will be free outdoor games and a bicycle rodeo. For a complete schedule, click here.

The fair will end on Saturday, July 13, with a Parade of Champions at 1 p.m. in the Show Arena and the 4–H Livestock Auction at 2 p.m.
Several special events will cost spectators.
- On Saturday, July 6, the Demo Derby will be at 7 p.m. Adult tickets are $15, children 3-12 years old are $5, and kids under 3 are free.
- On Sunday, July 7, at the Bar MC Rodeo at 7 p.m., adult tickets are $10, for children 3-12 $5, and free for children under 3.
- On Monday, July 8, Pig Scramble will be at 7 p.m. Adult tickets are $10, children 3-12 $5, and children under 3 are free.
- On Tuesday, July 9, Quads at 7 p.m., adult tickets are $10, children 3-12 $5, and children under 3 are free.
- On Wednesday, July 11, Micro-Wrestling, ringside seats are $25. General admission is $10 for adults, and children under 3 are free.
