Clay County officials issue disaster declaration over ongoing cyberattack

CLAY COUNTY- Officials in Clay County have issued a disaster declaration. This is as the country continues to deal with a cyberattack.

The attack is crippling the Clay County Courthouse along with Clay County Probation and Community Corrections.

The declaration will last for the next seven days.

Officials said they discovered the ransomware attack in computer systems early Tuesday morning. This led to them closing several government offices – including county courts.

On Wednesday, the county said it is still working on the recovery process, which has resulted in the continued closure of all offices at the Clay County Courthouse.
