MITCHELL – A Mitchell man was arrested after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies caught him breaking into a building on State Road 37.
On Tuesday, August 6, at approximately 6:48 p.m., Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Robin Compton and Deputies Andrew Tillett and Chris Griggs responded to a possible burglary occurring in the 3500 block of State Road.
When they arrived, they found 35-year-old Steven Bradley on the property carrying a pneumatic jackhammer. A pneumatic jackhammer, also known as a pneumatic hammer or pneumatic drill, is a power tool that uses compressed air to drive a hammer in an up-and-down motion to break up and drill into concrete and rock.
They also found a door on one of the buildings had been pried open, and multiple tools and other items had been placed just outside the building.
Bradley was arrested on burglary, theft, and trespassing charges and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
