Two arrested on drug charges after canine Roko alerted on the vehicle during a traffic stop

JUDAH – Two people were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop on Old State Road 37 near Judah on Sunday, August 4.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Andrew Tillett stopped the vehicle around 4:22 p.m. and noticed indicators of criminal activity when speaking to the driver. He requested Deputy Kenton Carter to assist with his canine partner, Roko. Roko alerted officers to possible drugs in the vehicle.

Sgt. Robin Compton also arrived to assist.

A search found the driver 28-year-old Robbie Mathis of Bloomington, had meth and drug paraphernalia. His passenger, 25-year-old Sierra Bruhn, also of Bloomington, had numerous pills she did not have a valid prescription for and marijuana.

Both were arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
