Vehicle pulled from a pond in Monroe County, one person found deceased

MONROE CO. – On Sunday, August 11, deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2500 block of North Stonelake Drive after a report of a vehicle partially submerged in a pond near the area.

The personnel of the Monroe County Dive Team, Emergency Services, and Fire Department were also dispatched.

Members of the dive team located the vehicle in the water, which was occupied by a single occupant in the driver’s seat, who was already deceased. The driver’s identification is not being released at this time.

Detectives and a crash reconstructionist with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office were also called to the scene.

The investigation remains active. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, August 12, 2024.
