Celebrate the harp at Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market on Saturday

BLOOMINGTON – The USA International Harp Competition (USAIHC) is an independent triennial performance competition sponsored by Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington.

Since its inception 35 years ago, over 400 harpists from 31 countries have traveled to Bloomington to compete for the coveted Gold Medal. 

Celebrate the harp on Saturday, August 17, at the Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market. 

Enjoy a live, family-friendly Harp Start experience with two unique presentations between 9:00 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. on the Fernandez Plaza and a brief performance/demonstration on the FM Circular Stage around 10:00 a.m.

Music at the Market

This Saturday’s entertainment line-up presents – The Wilsons.

Ken Wilson (vocals, 6- and 12-string guitars, harmonica) and his wife Debbie (vocals, keyboard, flute) have been sharing their music with audiences for over forty years.

They perform classic and contemporary acoustic music from the sixties to the present day. They enjoy interacting with our audiences, and their extensive repertoire allows them to encourage requests. They’ll perform at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on the BCFM Circular Stage.

Mayor’s Team at the Table

Mayor’s Team at the Table is a community outreach program that invites Market-goers to engage with the mayor and various department heads from the City of Bloomington government.
