LAWRENCE CO. – Purdue Extension Lawrence County is seeking candidates interested in running for the 4-H Council.
There are three seats up for election.
A 4-H Council member in Lawrence County is crucial in guiding, supporting, and participating in local council meetings on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m.
Council members help plan and organize county-wide events and activities, providing input on program improvements and serving as liaisons between 4-H members, leaders, and the broader community. Their efforts help ensure that the 4-H program effectively meets the needs of its youth participants and fosters their growth and development.
New this year, the board’s seats will not be determined by township location in the county. Instead, the board will have nine at-large seats.
Terms are three years; you can serve up to two consecutive terms.
Voting will be held on September 30 at the Lawrence County 4-H Council Annual Meeting at the Expo Hall at the fairgrounds on US 500 West.
