SEYMOUR – The Seymour Department of Public Works is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the GSG Automated Truck Driver position. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
The GSG Automated Truck Driver is responsible for the safe operation of department trucks and requires a CDL license. They will also direct sanitation laborers in the safe removal of garbage, operate the sanitation packer mechanism, and ensure personal and truck safety.
Other duties include operating a “Lightning loader” boom truck as needed, keeping trucks clean inside and out, assisting in snow removal, and performing other emergency duties. The driver will also be responsible for weighing tickets and gas receipts and maintaining accurate records.
Here is a list of the following job requirements:
- Current CDL license. Class B.
- Experience in operating a sanitation truck or other large vehicle is required or preferred.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to read, carry out written instructions, and understand and carry out oral instructions.
- Maintain data entry in the DPW Asset Management program.
The candidate must be able to perform duties involving continuous exertion, such as sitting for long periods, close/far vision, depth perception, hearing, and occasionally lifting/carrying objects weighing less than 125 pounds.
The hours are 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with a half-hour lunch break.
