Shelburn man arrested for domestic battery of juveniles

SULLIVAN CO. – Indiana State Police Putnamville Post initiated a criminal investigation on May 9, 2024, after receiving information from a Shelburn Town Marshall concerning allegations of the domestic battery of two juveniles.

According to police, Caleb J. Bays, 34, of Shelburn, injured two juveniles under the age of 14 during a domestic dispute.

After reviewing the investigation, Sullivan County Prosecutor Ann Mischler asked for a warrant to arrest Bay. Sullivan Circuit Court issued a warrant on August 27, 2024, on two counts of domestic battery on a person less than 14 years old.

Bays was arrested Wednesday without incident by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department. He is being held in the Jail on a $16,000 bond.
