BEDFORD – On Saturday, August 31, Bedford Police Dispatch received a call about a disturbance at 2621 Industrial Park Drive. The caller reported that 63-year-old Georg Rathburn was refusing to leave the caller’s apartment and was destroying items inside.
Officer Michael Bell responded and found Rathburn, sitting in a chair with a half-empty bottle of wine beside him. Despite multiple requests from the officers, Rathburn refused to vacate the premises and resisted officers attempted to place him under arrest.
Rathburn was then physically removed from the apartment and had to be carried to a police vehicle.
Due to his level of intoxication, Rathburn was transported by ambulance to IU Bedford Hospital. Once medically cleared, he was arrested for criminal trespass, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
