MONTGOMERY – Bedford North Lawrence, spurred by a personal-best round from Sammie Nusbaum, posted wins on the front nine at Country Oaks during girls high school golf action on Tuesday.
The Stars carded a team total of 159 to top Barr-Reeve (180), Washington (188) and Jasper (189).
Nusbaum was the medalist with a 1-over 37 that included a birdie on the sixth hole. Kinleigh Root also birdied the sixth en route to her round of 40.
“Super proud of Sammie,” BNL coach Kori Johnston said. “Putts were finally falling for her, and her score shows it. She’s a good player with lots of potential. Scores like this will be her regular soon enough.”
Ellie Horton and Emma Endris capped the team scoring with 41s.
“It was not a bad night for us,” Johnston said. “We played the tees a little further back, similar to how they will be at the regional, and brought home the win against some of our regional competition.”
Liv Emmons paced Barr-Reeve with a 41, Grace Hickey fired a 41 for the Hatchets, and Addie Dart posted 41 for Jasper.
BNL will host Brownstown on Thursday.
