BLOOMINGTON – In the fall months, farmers’ markets are brimming with a cornucopia of seasonal produce. The Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market is a fantastic place to start when finding the freshest fruits and veggies.
Unlike grocery stores, where produce might have traveled a long distance, farmers’ markets are stocked with produce harvested directly from local farms at the peak ripeness, which means it’s not only fresh but extra flavorful.
Music at the Market
Leading off our double-header entertainment series for this Saturday is InAccord, directed by Svetla Vladeva.
This five-person ensemble offers an international music repertoire while displaying a surprising versatility on the accordion, and singing world folk music in several languages. They begin singing at 9:00 a.m. on the Circular stage.
Following InAccord, is the multi-talented Bill Vincent. With a unique style all his own. Bill takes the solo piano/vocalist gig to a new level using not only piano, but an entire custom electronic “band” to allow for a more contemporary sound. He’ll begin performing on the Circular Stage at 10:15 a.m.
A Fair of the Arts
This Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. visit Fernandex Plaza in front of City Hall for A Fair of the Arts. The event is free to attend.
Shop for art and fine crafts hand made by local and regional artists. Held in conjunctions with the Saturday Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market. For more information click here.
Mayor’s Table at the Market
This is a community outreach program that invites Market-goers to engage with the mayor and various department heads from the City of Bloomington government.
This Saturday, Chief Mike Diekhoff of the Bloomington Police Department, will be greeting the public at the Farmers’ Market between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
