NORTH VERNON – Bedford North Lawrence recorded its first Hoosier Hills Conference victory of the season with a 2-0 triumph over Jennings County during boys high school soccer action on Thursday.
The Stars (4-4 overall, 1-2 in the league) powered past the Panthers with goals by Adriano Sullivan and Noah Childers.
Sullivan converted a penalty kick at 33:48 in the first half, and Childers added the clicker off a Manuel Morales assist with 1:06 left in the second.
“We started out very strong, dominated the first 10 minutes,” BNL coach Ryan Otis said. “We dropped off after that, didn’t have any intensity and let them hang around. We still maintained good possession but didn’t play to our ceiling.
“In the second half of the second half, we finally picked up the intensity. We peppered them with shots, had several good through balls. We need to learn to play our game and not down to our opponent.”
BNL totaled 22 shots.
The Stars will visit Trinity Lutheran on Saturday.
