PAOLI- The Aviation Day event at Paoli Municipal Airport was a resounding success today. Families and aviation enthusiasts enjoyed plane rides and aircraft exhibits, plus an opportunity to grab lunch and let the kids play on the bounce houses. The community came together to celebrate aviation, with local pilots offering scenic flights and displays showcasing aircraft technology, making the event fun and educational.
This was a free community event with the goal of “Getting people into aviation. A lot of young kids come around here. You never know when you may turn one into a pilot,” said Vance Alden, Manager of Paoli Municipal Airport. “We try to make it as fun as we can and as affordable as we can. Our plane rides are so cheap, they are essentially free.” Taking to the skies was very affordable at $20 for adults and $10 for kids, a fraction of what it would cost elsewhere.
Biscuits and gravy were on the breakfast menu, and grilled hamburgers and hot dogs were served for lunch. Hot dogs and hamburgers were $2 and $3, respectively, making Aviation Day an affordable way to get the family out and see something new on a beautiful day.
Paoli Municipal Airport has had an Aviation Day celebration every year for decades. It is a wonderful experience for the community to bond and see their hometown from a bird’s-eye view. Be sure to look out for next year’s event; I promise you won’t want to miss it!
