TIPPECANOE CO.– At the request of the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office, the Indiana State Police are investigating the death of an inmate at the Tippecanoe County Jail.
A preliminary investigation by detectives from the Lafayette Post indicates that on September 14, 2024, around 3:00 p.m., jail staff were alerted by an inmate to a potential medical emergency in their cell. Upon arriving, jail staff found an unresponsive inmate, contacted EMS and began rendering medical aid. Despite their efforts, the inmate was pronounced deceased at the jail by the Tippecanoe County Coroner.
The preliminary investigation does not indicate any signs of foul play. The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office has released the deceased’s name. Please refer to their press release for any further information.
