MONTGOMERY—In the early hours of Sunday morning, a devastating fire engulfed the Bargain Center on County Road 400 North in Daviess County.
The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. after a smoke alarm was reported at the location, prompting a swift response from the firefighters. Upon arrival, the Montgomery Fire Department found heavy fire coming from the building, and additional departments were requested to assist. Seven agencies and nearby departments responded to help control the blaze.
Firefighters worked tirelessly for several hours to contain the flames and prevent further damage.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation as authorities work to ascertain the factors that led to this destructive blaze.
The building and all of its contents were destroyed.
