Construction will begin on J Street; 16th Street to open

BEDFORD—J Street south of 10th Street at the old railroad crossing will have limited access to a gravel detour from Wednesday, September 18th, at 7 a.m. until approximately Friday, September 20th, at 4 p.m. to install a sanitary sewer line.

Due to construction and congestion, traffic should avoid the area if possible and seek an alternate route. If you are in that area, be patient, cautious, and aware of heavy equipment and workers.

If possible, semis should avoid the area and seek an alternate route unless they travel to Mullis Petroleum, Standish Feed Store, Indiana Steel, Fortner Pest Control or Metal Source, formerly Bedford Recycling.

All businesses from 5th Street past 10th Street on J remain open during the construction timeframe.

Officials apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for cooperating as they improve the City of Bedford’s infrastructure.
