According to the probable cause affidavit, officers were dispatched to a residence on 20th Street in Bedford around 12:08 a.m. in response to a 911 call from a female. She reported that her boyfriend, Cody Robbins, had assaulted her in the presence of her 10-year-old son.

When police arrived, they found the woman on the front steps with injuries to her face. She told officers that Robbins had entered her home, demanded her car keys, and then proceeded to punch her in the face three times, once with a closed fist and twice with an open palm. She told police Robbins also had spit on her and threw two lamps at her, striking her in the back.

A male witness corroborated the woman’s account, telling police that he saw Robbins hit the woman 4-5 times in the face and head. The woman’s 10-year-old son was also present and witnessed the entire incident.

Medics evaluated the woman at the scene, and she later went to a local hospital to receive treatment for her injuries.

The Department of Child Services was also notified and made aware of the situation involving the 10-year-old child who was present during the assault.

The Bedford Police officer requested the Prosecutor’s Office review the incident and issue a warrant for Robbins’ arrest on charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor and battery by bodily waste. Robbins was arrested on Tuesday, September 17.

Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
