FERDINAND – In a coordinated effort between Indiana State Police and the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office, a man wanted for homicide in Ohio was apprehended early this morning at a gas station in Ferdinand.
Alejandro Angulo Ramos, 22, of Columbus, Ohio, was taken into custody without incident at approximately 6:30 a.m.. Ramos was the subject of a multi-state search after being identified as a suspect in a murder case originating in Ohio.
Indiana State Trooper Connor Giesler was on patrol near Ferdinand in the Dubois County area when he received information about Ramos possibly traveling on Interstate 64 in a beige 2004 Toyota Corolla.
Following a brief search, Deputy Ethan Gogel of the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office located Ramos’ vehicle at a gas station in Ferdinand. Trooper Giesler arrived shortly after to assist.
As officers approached the parked vehicle, a man matching Ramos’s description exited an outside restroom. Law enforcement quickly confirmed his identity and arrested him without resistance.
Ramos has been transported to the Dubois County Jail, where he will await extradition back to Ohio to face murder charges.
