SULLIVAN CO. — A Lifeline ambulance carrying a juvenile patient caught fire on Sunday while traveling on US 41 near State Road 48. Fortunately, both the ambulance crew and the patient were able to exit the vehicle safely.
According to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, after the incident, the crew and the patient were transferred to Sullivan County Ambulances, which then transported them to Terre Haute’s Airport for further assistance. Lifeline later took over the patient’s transportation.
Emergency responders were quick to extinguish the fire, and the cause is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office. No injuries were reported, and the quick actions of the crew ensured the safety of everyone involved.
