Colton comes from a football-loving family. His father and grandfather both played, and now his older brother does too. Colton’s favorite part of the game? Tackling.

Colton’s mother, Kelsy Harkness, shared her pride in her son’s commitment. “Colton understands his limits but still shows up for every practice. There are many drills he can participate in, and he gives 100% every time,” she said.

The game’s defining moment came during the last quarter when, after the kickoff, a teammate passed the ball directly to Colton. With cheers erupting from the sidelines, Colton took off running—60 yards down the field—crossing the goal line for an unforgettable touchdown. “That is the furthest I have seen him walk unassisted or without his walker,” Kelsy added, her voice filled with pride.

The atmosphere was electric as players and coaches from both teams celebrated Colton’s achievement. “There is so much competition in sports, but this was heartwarming to see all the players and coaches cheering for Colton,” said Kelsy.

Mitchell Youth League Coach Nick Doub expressed immense pride in Colton’s accomplishment, noting his positive impact on the team. Varsity Coach Zach See also showed his support by capturing the moment in photographs, which was later presented to Colton as a keepsake, by Coach Doub.
