William Michael “Mike” Embree, 76, of Springville, passed away at his home on September 24, 2024, with his wife Carol by his side. He was born on May 11, 1948, in Lawrence County to William Roy Embree and Lisa Embree. Mike was a graduate of Oolitic High School, he was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country, he was a member of the American Legion Post #33 in Bedford, and was a 50-year member of the Shriners. Everyone that knew Mike loved him; he was a kindhearted soul, and he was good to everyone. Mike owned and operated Hobby’s in Bedford for nearly 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Embree; two brothers, Tom (Marsha) Embree and Pat Embree; sister, Diane Marshall; several stepchildren; and grandchildren.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
