BEDFORD—On Thursday, September 26, Lawrence Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline sentenced a Bloomington man to the Indiana Department of Correction after failing to comply with his probation terms.
Tony Purcell, 33, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, on May 11, 2023, as part of a negotiated plea agreement with the State of Indiana. He was initially sentenced to 910 days, with ten days of jail credit and the remainder suspended. In exchange for his guilty plea, he was ordered to serve 545 days on supervised probation.
However, on Thursday, September 26, Judge Cline sentenced Purcell to 850 days in the Indiana Department of Correction and terminated his probation after he failed to comply with its terms and conditions. Deputy Prosecutor Kristen Meza represented the State.
