BEDFORD– Joshua Michael Lintz, a 32-year-old resident of Bedford, was arrested on September 28 after Bedford police officers discovered him in possession of illegal substances, including methamphetamine and marijuana.
At approximately 4:28 p.m., Officer Michael Bell observed a gold SUV dropping off an individual at 227 Oolitic Road. Recognizing the vehicle as belonging to the family of Joshua and Ricki Lintz, both of whom were wanted on outstanding warrants, Officer Bell turned around to investigate further. He noticed a male, later identified as Joshua Lintz, entering a shed at the back of the residence.
Due to the shed not belonging to Lintz, Officer Bell had Officer Sarah Haluda request permission from the homeowner, Mary Speer, to contact those inside. After receiving consent, officers approached the shed, where they found Lintz and another individual, Michael Turpin.
He complied and was taken into custody after informing Lintz of his active arrest warrant. A search during the arrest revealed a glass smoking device with burnt residue, three hand-rolled cigarettes containing marijuana, and a folded dollar bill in Lintz’s pockets. He was then placed in the rear of a patrol vehicle and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
At the Bedford Police Department, the contents of the folded dollar bill were examined and found to contain crystal meth and fentanyl.
Lintz now faces multiple charges, including possession of a narcotic drug, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia. The case highlights ongoing efforts by the Bedford Police Department to address drug-related offenses in the community.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
