Obituary: William ‘Matthias’ Boggs

February 2, 1997 – September 30, 2024

William ‘Matthias’ Boggs, 27, of Bedford, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024.

He was born in Bedford on February 2, 1997, to Shannon Boggs and Beth Smith. Matthias was a graduate of BNL High School, a member of the Laborers Union, and worked for Rivertown Construction. He was the oldest grandchild and an avid history buff alongside grandpa Steve. Matt attended community college after graduation until he joined the Laborers Union, he was a proud homeowner, he was a good human of high character, he was the best brother, friend, an amazing Dad, and he loved his daughter, he’s truly an irreplaceable person.

Survivors include his parents, Shannon and Michelle Boggs; his mother, Beth Smith; grandfather, Steve Boggs; his daughter, Zoey Boggs and her mother, Morgan Harrison; two brothers, Kaison Ames, and Kody Allen; two sisters, Gabrielle Boggs and Kaiya Johnson and Jesse Woody, Aunts and Uncles, Jeff (Jennifer) Boggs, Tonya (Jason) Amstutz, Bill (Shala) Cormican, Amanda Cormican, Miranda (Alex) Alexander, Mariah Cormican, Bud (Crystal) Kean, Casey (Jessica) Byrd, and Susan (Casey) Mitchell, his beloved dog, Cooper.

Matthias was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sylvia Boggs, Tamm Byrd-Folk, Frances Cormican, and William and Thelma Wagoner.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home, with Pastor Dwight Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow in Silverville Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
