BEDFORD—On Tuesday, Oct. 1st, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., BNL students participated in the 3E Expo, designed to showcase many different post-secondary paths. The three “E’s” are enlist, employ, and enroll. Helping students see the value of exploring all three options will enable them to make informed decisions about their futures. The event was open to all students.
The 3E Expo is designed to help students explore post-graduation pathways by connecting them with various opportunities for their future. The three “E’s” represent different routes students can take after high school:
- Enlist: This encourages students to explore options in the military. Various branches of
the armed forces may attend to provide information about enlisting, the benefits of
military service, and potential career paths within the military. - Employ: This focuses on direct entry into the workforce. Local employers, industries,
and businesses attend to offer job opportunities, apprenticeships, or internships, helping
students who want to start their careers immediately after high school. - Enroll: This promotes higher education, such as colleges, universities, and vocational
schools. Representatives from educational institutions help students learn about
programs, degrees, certifications, and the enrollment process for continuing education.
The purpose of the 3E Expo is to present these options in a single event, allowing students to
make informed decisions about their futures and engage with organizations that align with their
interests.
Twenty-four local and regional businesses were represented, encompassing a wide range of specialties, including healthcare, construction, manufacturing, law enforcement, union opportunities, and more. Students were afforded the opportunity to connect with these future employers and gain insight into the next step to achieve their career goals.
Twenty-nine colleges and universities participated in the event to help guide students on where to get started on the path to post-secondary education. Choosing the right college is a big decision, and giving students information as to what schools have to offer will enlighten them as they consider options.
United States Coast Guard, United States Air and Space Force, Indiana Army National Guard, US Army, and the Marines were on hand to share opportunities in the United States Military.
