Bedford Revitalization Inc’s Honey Harvest Festival was a sweet success

BEDFORD- The Honey Harvest Festival took place today at Harp Commons on Bedford’s Square. It was a vibrant celebration of beekeeping and local honey production. Held for the first time, it featured honey tastings, educational booths, and vendors. Visitors learned about the importance of bees in agriculture, watched live beekeeping demonstrations, and enjoyed family-friendly activities in a fun, community-focused atmosphere.

The Honey Harvest Festival events included Bedford Beekeepers honey tasting, candlemaking, a beekeeping presentation, a learning hive, free flavored honey samples, and market items, including local honey and beeswax candle sales.

BRI is leading an initiative to incorporate more community-focused events in Bedford’s downtown green space. The initiative aims to increase tourism and showcase the city’s charm. Events like the Honey Harvest Festival have a significant economic impact on downtown businesses, drawing in residents and visitors to explore, shop, and enjoy everything Bedford offers. The event is partially funded through a grant by Lawrence County Tourism.
