VANDERBURGH CO. – Sunday, October 6, at approximately 8:50 a.m., Master Trooper Finney patrolled I-69 north of the Lloyd Expressway while observing a motorcycle traveling north at 106 miles per hour. Trooper Finney also noticed the bike was weaving in and out of traffic.
After traveling north approximately six miles, the rider looked behind him and started to slow down to approximately 60 mph. The rider continued north for approximately two more miles before pulling over and stopping.
The rider was argumentative and would not follow Trooper Finney’s instructions. After another trooper arrived to assist, the rider, 40-year-old Jacob Nunley, was taken into custody without further incident.
While communicating with Nunley, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. A THC vape was also located in Nunley’s pocket. Nunley was transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond on charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, a Level 6 felony, reckless driving, a Class A misdemeanor, OWI refusal, a Class A misdemeanor, and possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
