Community initiative aims to illuminate Lawrence County on Winter Solstice

BEDFORD— Nicole (Nikki) Luallen is rallying Lawrence County residents to join her in a unique initiative to bring light to the year’s darkest day. On December 21, 2024, at 9:00 p.m., Luallen will call on everyone to turn on their porch lights as a symbolic gesture of faith and community spirit.

“The Lord has given me a vision and a message. My mission is to light up Lawrence County for the glory of God,” Luallen stated. “As Christians, we are called to take our light into the darkness, and that’s what I aim to do with the help of you and our community.”

Luallen believes that this simple act of turning on a porch light will serve as a powerful visual representation of what faith can achieve. “When one flame is lit, a transference of light will occur. I pray this will reignite the fire in the lukewarm believer, bring the lost to Christ, and be a testament of faith to many.”

She encourages everyone in the community to participate, emphasizing the importance of prayer during this time. “Let’s come together to pray for our community and those who have yet to find Jesus,” she said.

As December 21 approaches, Luallen hopes that the collective light from homes across Lawrence County will shine brightly, showcasing the community’s unity and faith.
