BEDFORD—The Bedford Board of Works and Safety met last night, October 15, at StoneGate Arts and Education Center. They heard requests for the reservation of parking spaces along 16th Street for two seperate events in the coming month.
The courthouse parking lot gets very busy during business hours, making parking for early voters a challenge at times. Street Commissioner David Flinn proposed reserving four parking spots along 16th Street between J and I Streets in front of the courthouse plaza until November 4 to accommodate the extra traffic. A motion was made to approve the reservation of the spots, and it was passed unanimously.
Bailey’s Flowers and Gifts is celebrating 40 years in the Bedford community. Julie Bailey-Bex asked the board to approve the temporary reservation of four parking spots so the business has parking for its 40-year celebration. The spots are in front of Bailey’s Flowers and Gifts going east to I Street. After congratulating Bailey-Bex on 40 years in business, the board voted on and unanimously approved the proposal.
