BLOOMINGTON— The City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department invites community members to participate in a tree-planting event at White Oak Cemetery. This initiative aims to enhance the local environment by planting native trees, and volunteers of all ages are encouraged to join.
The event will occur at White Oak Cemetery, 1200 West 7th Street in Bloomington. Volunteers are asked to wear long pants and sturdy shoes; gloves and other necessary tools will be provided on-site. To ensure a successful planting experience, on-site training will be offered to all participants.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to participate. Those under 18 need a signed Underage Waiver of Liability from a parent or guardian, which should be brought to the event.
The organizer, Gillian Field, calls on neighbors, CanopyBloomington supporters, other environmental organizations, and friends and family to help gather volunteers for this vital cause.
